The Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, or their designee, shall be involved in the selection of the recipient.

The Donors to the Fund prefer larger scholarships be awarded to fewer students (up to full tuition and fees) to maximize the impact to each recipient.

The University will maintain close communication with the Black Physicians of Carle group to let its members know how the Fund is being used and to ensure this Fund is administered in a way that honors the intentions of the donors to the Fund.

To support the most underrepresented in medicine, the Black Physicians of Carle have established the Black Physicians Launch, Thrive and Significance Fund at the University of Illinois Foundation and in partnership with Carle Center for Philanthropy. Donations to this fund will be used to create an annual scholarship to the Carle Illinois College of Medicine.
